I was wondering if you'd mind me asking you a question.  Have you lost the weight you put on during your pregnancy with Mia?  Was it very hard to do, or just like any other diet/exercising plan?  Is it more difficult to lose weight when you have a c-section?  I hope this is not too personal, but I do not know anyone else that has had a baby recently, so I was hoping you could let me know!

MY RESPONSE:

It is much harder to lose the weight after a C Section because it is a long time before you can work out. After 6 weeks I was finally given the okay to walk a mile at a steady pace on a flat surface. You can't weight train for 6 months. After 3 months you can do light yoga. Doctors vary on the timing for exercise though so you may want to talk to yours before starting any kind of exercise. You have to take it easy though and pay attention to your body's cues. I experience some pain when I walk too much. Sometimes I get stabbing pains, sometimes lingering pain. The area still feels numb and tingly in some spots so it makes it hard to tell where the pain in coming from.
I have lost my baby weight, but I have a belly now that I need to get rid of. The weight falls off pretty quickly when you're breastfeeding (lost 17.5 pounds in the first 2 weeks). It's not a very good idea to diet while breastfeeding because you burn so many calories and your baby needs all the nutrients she can get to help her grow. The best plan is to continue eating healthy and often like you did during pregnancy. You should still be taking in 200-300 calories over what your body needs before pregnancy.
Remember it takes 9 months to put on the weight and change your body so it only makes sense that it will take at least that long to get back to "normal".
Thank you for the email.
