Robert Van Winkle, AKA Vanilla Ice, is not dead! He took to his Twitter page yesterday to slam rumors that he had died in a car crash. "I don't know who's spreading this rumor about me dying in a car crash but - IM ALIVE! I have like 30 texts from mom family and friends."
The death hoax comes from the usual suspect - Global Associated News, the site responsible for generating fake news stories about Eddie Murphy, Charlie Sheen, Jeff Goldblum and others dying in accidents.
This time they reported that Vanilla Ice, the 44-year-old rapper "died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell." That's somewhere between New Jersey and New Mexico. The story said that, Ice lost control while driving a friend's car at 95 mph and rolled over several times, dying on impact, with findings apparently ruling out drugs and alcohol.
Here's Sugarland's tribute to the rapper (before the death reports):
I'm glad to hear that he's okay because I really enjoy is reality show "The Vanilla Ice Project." I just watched the episode where Ice and his crew ripped up and redesigned an outdated pool in the backyard of a 10,000 square foot mansion into an awesome lagoon with a tiki hut and lazy river. It was awesome. Now he's doing a new reality show called "Ice My House" which is now the reality show I most want to be on. My house could use a "rock star renovation." ~Nikki
What reality show would you most want to be on?
