9 Year old has surgery to prevent bullying

DUMBOA 9 year old boy from Idaho had corrective surgery on his ears to stop from getting bullied. He had big ears sticking out from his head, and kids would call him Dumbo, and ask him is he could fly if he flicked his ears.

He was very quiet and didn't want to go to school. He only had 2 friends last year and would beg his mom, "don't make me go, I don't want to go."

When she caught him pulling back his ears in the mirror she knew something had to be done.

But both parents were recently unemployed, and the surgery is around $10,000 and not covered by insurance. She found a doctor in NY from the Little Baby Face Foundation that does free surgeries for kids with birth defects.

They removed some excess cartilage from behind his ears and sutured them closer to his head. It gave him an entirely new look.

The boy's mother thinks the two-hour surgery will change her son's life.

DO YOU THINK CORRECTIVE SURGERY IS A GOOD IDEA OR GOING TOO FAR?
