Daddy's home sick today. Yesterday afternoon I was running errands so Josh and Mia beat me home. I called home to tell him I was on my way and he sounded as if he'd been sleeping, he wasn't feeling well. I got home and took care of Mia and got the dishes done, he made dinner and that was the end of him. He slept on the couch through dinner, he didn't eat more than 2 bites. By 7pm he was on the bathroom floor and stayed there until the wee hours of the morning. I knew that if he was going to be sick there would be no way he'd be able to take care of Mia and our sitter is 50 minutes south of our house. So I made arrangements to leave work early.
On a normal night I feed Mia around 8 then I go to bed and Josh sits with her until she settles in for sleep. Last night with Josh out of commission I needed to put Mia to bed on my own so I started our bed time routine at 7:30 instead of 8 in hopes that I'd still be able to get to sleep on time. I got her down around 8:45 so it was after 9 before I went to bed. She woke me up at 2am to eat, which is unusual for her, her first feeding is usually at 4:30 and Josh takes care of it because that's when I have to leave for work. After I fed her at 2 it was almost time for my alarm to go off so I just stayed up and got ready.
I got 4 1/2 hours of sleep so I was so tired this morning for the show and couldn't wait to get home in hopes that I could take a nap at some point. Mia didn't want to nap at all though she was very tired. Josh said she woke up at 6:30 ready to go for the day and hadn't napped since. I got her to take a half hour nap with me, but other than that she just rested her eyes here an there. Not enough of a nap to make me feel better.
Josh is still sick, but feeling better than he was last night. I hope he can go to work tomorrow though it was nice to come home early and spend the day with my baby girl.
This situation is just another adjustment that we have to deal with now that we're parents. Now we have to figure out what we're gonna do when Josh goes out of town on his buisness trips.
