Yesterday I was told that I need to have another baby so I can see what being a real parent is like. This made me laugh. I was telling this person how lucky I am that Mia sleeps through the night and is such a smiley happy girl during the day.
Last night we were shocked. We went through our routine: change her, put her in her onesie, socks, harness and halo, fed her, rocked her, and read her a story. Then we turned on the wave sound machine and put her in her crib. We left her awake and she cried a couple times because her pacifier fell out of her mouth, but then fell asleep. She is getting so much better at putting herself to sleep. We used to have to sit with her until she was completely asleep, but now we can leave her awake and she'll fall asleep on her own. This is great for me because I don't have to sit up with her until 10pm when I have to get up for work at 2:15am.
Did you have trouble getting your children to sleep? Do you have any tricks to get babies to sleep?
