Jennifer Lopez is being accused of supporting terrorists because of her endorsement of the new Fiat. In the commercial we see Jennifer Lopez driving the car through the Bronx where she grew up saying that it "inspires [her] to be tougher, to stay sharper, to think faster." Maybe she should've thought harder before signing on to to endorse the motor company. The United Against Nuclear Iran group claims that a division of the Italian car maker distributes trucks to Iran, a portion of which have been used to relocate missles and to "stage gruesome public executions" In a letter to Lopez, UANI claims that by serving as their spokesperson she is "sponsoring terrorist groups that have killed American and NATO soldiers." UANI has given Lopez until Wednesday to sever ties with the company or they will "continue highlighting" her involvement with Fiat. So far there has been no comment from the singer.
Wednesday is the premiere of Jennifer Lopez's second season as a judge on American Idol. I think it would behoove her to say something. I don't think she's guilty of anything personally, but these accusations are serious and could shine a very negative light on Lopez right before the premiere of the platform that helped her kick her career back into high gear. I guess we'll see what happens.
