American Idol is no longer the powerhouse it once was. For the first time in 5 years, the Fox reality show was beaten in the ratings by the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory. Theory attracted 16.1 million viewers, while Idol only had 15.4 million viewers. In addition, Idol's audience fell 14 percent from the previous week's episode, to hit a new low for the series. Could it have had something to do with Steven Tyler stripping down to his boxer briefs and mooning the camera before diving into the pool?

Avril Lavigne is the latest name in the running for the vacant judges spots on X Factor. Other names mentioned include Janet Jackson, Fergie, and Britney Spears. Reports also suggest that LeAnn Rimes has met with a producer of the show regarding a spot as a judge, according to Entertainmentwise.com.
