United Way 2-1-1 Give and Get Help Guide

Posted by Nikki Montgomery on

United Way’s 2-1-1 and Volunteer Connection have published a new GIVE and GET HELP GUIDE, a 36-page mini-directory of community services and volunteer opportunities.  Marathon County residents can learn where to find help, volunteer, or donate gently used items they no longer need.

                        United Way’s 2-1-1 has seen an increase of 6.4% in requests for basic needs  assistance over the same time last year.  This guide can be a valuable resource for those needing assistance and is being provided free of charge thanks in part to donated paper from Wausau Paper Corp.

                        The new 2011 Give and Get Help Guide may be picked up at the following locations, during regular business hours:

§  United Way of Marathon County

§  City Hall

§  Marathon County Courthouse

§  Marathon County Public Library in Wausau and branches in Athens, Edgar, Hatley, Marathon, Mosinee, Rothschild, Spencer, and Stratford;

§  Schofield City Hall

§  Weston Municipal Center.

            Residents who wish to have the guide mailed should call 2-1-1, 715-848-2255, or 1-800-922-5590; or emailaskus@unitedwaymc.org.
