Baby Blog by Josh:
So we have a laundry list of things to get before the baby comes, and as most of you know, I want to pitch in as much as possible. So I decided to go to a garage sale to find some stuff for our little girl. Mind you, every time I’ve gone shopping for kids clothes I’ve had my wonderful wife with me for guidance. But this time I was going solo.
I texted Nikki before I went to the sale to check to see what else we needed. As most guys can
attest, I need a list of items to get. I can’t just go to a garage sale, or a store for that matter, and just look around. I need a list of specific things to get. So armed with this list, I head off to the garage sale.
When I got there, everything seemed a little fuzzy. I was nervous. Not nervous about being at a garage sale, but nervous that I would buy something that I shouldn’t, or wouldn’t get the best deal on something. But I was lucky. It was a friend’s garage sale, and she was there to lend a helping hand. I was able to pick up some cute sleepers and a swaddler.
When I got home I proudly showed Nikki my purchases. I said I did a good job, but I think she was just being nice. Since then she went to another garage sale, and came back with 3 times as many clothes as me and didn’t spend much more money. But it was a good first start to many years of buying clothes for our child. I will remember this forever and someday tell my little girl this story.
