Travis Tritt's son back was injured in a freak boating accident which almost cost the 12-year-old his foot.

Travis, wife Theresa and their three children were enjoying a day out on Lake Blue Ridge in Georgia (on August 20) when young Tristan decided to take a dip in the water.  His foot got sucked into the propeller blades, slashing his flesh to the bone.

Travis was behind the wheel of the boat at the time of the accident and immediately shut off the engine when he realized what had happened. He helped pull his son out of the water before rushing him to the nearest hospital.

According to the National Enquirer, doctors managed to stitch up the deep cuts on Tristan's leg. His mother later shared photos of the injury on her Facebook page.
