Lonestar lead singer Richie McDonald has reunited with keyboardist Dean Sams, drummer Keech Rainwater and lead guitarist Michael Britt to release a new album and embark on a new tour.
Lonestar scored its first No. 1 single with "No News" in 1996, and later scored the hits "Amazed," "I'm Already There" and "What About Now," among others. Richie left the group in 2007 to pursue a solo career.
Singer Cody Collins, who replaced Richie in 2008, has exited the group.
Lonestar began in 1992 as a band named Texassee. This name was derived from the fact that all five members were natives of Texas and met at Nashville's Opryland theme park. John Rich, an original member of the band, was fired from the group in 1998.
Currently, the reunited Lonestar has a string of shows abroad in Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and England slated for early 2012, with more tour dates to come.
