Babies are expensive. We haven't even met our little bundle of joy yet and we're already seeing all the ways things can add up.
We obviously got lots of new stuff at our shower from our awesome family and friends, but we needed to buy a few things to be ready.
We've already found some ways to save money. We have already bought diapers in sizes newborn through size 3 with coupons, We got free samples of newborn formula just in case breastfeeding doesn't pan out for me. We accepted hand me down toys. We bought a used pack-n-play, high chair, play mat and Johnny Jumper. We got lots of clothes in sizes 0-3 all the way up to 18 months, a bouncy chair, a portable bassinette, and a boppy pillow and 2 covers at a garage sale.
I looked into daycare today and realized how lucky I am to have friends and family willing to help us out watching our baby to save us lots of money.
I found an article on whattoexpect.com with some more suggestions on how to save money. They suggest forgoing the changing table and purchasing a changing pad instead to place on the top of a dresser. They also suggest skipping the bumpers because they're not safe for babies anyway.
For kids clothes which they grow out of so fast check out garage sales, second hand stores and consignment shops.
Do you have any other tips for saving money?
