Pregnancy progress 34 week appointment

I went to the doctor yesterday and got a new doctor in the rotation, Dr. Fatchikov, and I liked him very much. He answered my questions quickly, yet completely and he was pretty funny.

One nice thing about Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital/Rice Clinic is that they set you up on a rotation so you can meet all the OB/GYN doctors because you never know who is going to be the doctor on call the day you have the baby. I have a couple doctors left, I sure hope that I have a chance to meet them before baby comes.

Dr. Fatchikov took a look at my chart and told me that my weight gain is good right on target. He then told me that it looks like I'm cooking a pretty good size baby. When I got on the table so he could measure my belly and listen to the heartbeat he informed me that he too thinks the baby is about 5 pounds already. Her heartbeat was very fast, 153, that's about 10 higher than last time. Dr. Fatchikov told me that the baby must be excited. I laughed because I'm excited too.

So the baby checked out good and I checked out good, no swelling, proper weight gain, and normal blood pressure.

I just keep thanking my lucky stars for having such a good pregnancy so far. I know so many people who had complications from high blood pressure/toxemia or prematerm labor and in some cases preterm delivery. Granted I have a few weeks before I'm officially in the safety zone, but so far there's no indication that I have anything to worry about. I'll just keep prayin & knocking on wood.
