Cell Phone app

dental I'm having so much fun with this app I found. Both me and my husband have it loaded. It's a pregnancy tracker app for your phone that tells you week by week what's happening to mom's body and baby's body. It also offers daily advice.

I just finished week 16 and I learned that pregnant women often have red, swollen gums that may even be sore and bleed. Luckily I'm not one of those pregnant women. I haven't had any problems with my gums. In fact I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and he warned me about "pregnancy gingivitis" though I had no signs of it he wanted me to remember to keep flossing to prevent it. I haven't missed a day of flossing since he told me about it because gingivitis can progress to an infection of the bones and tissues supporting your teeth and this can also cause premature labor and preeclampsia.

I also learned that in the 16th week our baby is growing quickly, already 4 and a half inches from crown to rump. It's sucking, breathing, and swallowing. It's also doing aerobics in there, though I can't feel it yet. By now, the ears have moved up from the neck into their proper position and the eyes have moved from the sides of the head to the front of the face and though they're still fused shut they can detect light.

Oh and one more cool thing, our baby can sweat! I don't know why I think that's so weird, but I do.

Now I'm beginning week 17 and this week I found out that I could get nosebleeds and I will probably be congested. I'm usually congested this time of year anyway thanks to allergies so will I be able to tell the difference?

The baby can hear this week! That's exciting! Like everyone else the baby will probably recognize me by my laugh.

It has eyebrows and eyelashes, but it's skin is still translucent.

It's so neat to be able to follow along like this. It's like a pregnancy book one page at a time.

Do you or did you follow along with each week's development?
