Mia is officially smiling. Yesterday the Marathon County Public Health Nurse came to the house and did a free well water test, gave us some baby proofing stuff, lots of helpful information, and weighed Mia. Mia weighed 9 pounds. The nurse was impressed by how intereseted Mia was in me. Mia's eyes were glued to me the whole time the nurse was here. She also mentioned how alert Mia is. I was talking to Mia while the nurse was here and she smiled at me and the nurse said, "I see she's smiling in response to you." I love it. She's really smiling!

While the nurse was here she also had a blow out diaper. We had poop everywhere! Down her legs, up her back, even around to her tummy. It was all over her clothes, of course, but it also got all over her harness, and the couch. I had to strip her down and rinse her off in the sink. Then I had to throw her clothes and harness in the sink to soak in cold water until after the nurse left when I could get them in the washer. Oh that was a fun adventure. We had to strip her down to get weighed anyway.

It's amazing how much gross stuff doesn't seem gross when you're a parent. Picking boogers out of her little nose or sucking snot out with that awesome bulb thing and all that poop. Just can't wait our first experience with the flu...oh wait yes I can.
