Can you believe that in all his life my husband Josh has never changed a diaper? Luckily he is going to the Fathers In Training (FIT) class that Ministry Saint Claire's offers for new fathers. This class is taught by male pediatricians who are also experienced fathers from Marshfield Clinic. It teaches expecting fathers how to take care of baby and mom after child birth. This of course includes how to change a diaper.
Mom's are not invited to this class it's for fathers only so I imagine there will be a lot of sports analogies thrown in. As long as he learns something and it's fun for him I'm excited he's going.
The class is coming up on Monday night so I will get the whole scoop on it and report back to you on Tuesday. Or perhaps I'll ask him to blog for you so you can get the first hand experience.
I think it's so great that Ministry offers so many new parenting classes. I know there will be lots of surprises and I know I'll learn along the way what's best for my baby, but I just feel so much more comfortable starting this parenthood adventure with a little education on my side.
