Today I'm thinking I may have been a little hasty when I predicted Lee to win American Idol. Last night was day 1 of the American Idol finale and Lee DeWyze was good, but Crystal Bowersox rocked!! She was unbelievable. This was the Crystal that I predicted to win the show months ago. 

I didn't vote last night because I really don't care who wins. They're both awesome and they both deserve it. I think they'll both have huge success in their music careers. That means that tonight will not be as exciting for me as most American Idol season finales are since I usually have a clear cut favorite and I have been right the last two seasons.

The big thing for tonight will be all the performances and special guests to bid Simon farewell. 

Simon Cowell will take his final steps onto the American Idol set tonight and I think it will be a bit emotional for everyone. He is leaving to focus on his new show "X-Factor" which will premeire in 2011. He said in his interview with Ellen, "I am feeling a bit sad because I've had a fantastic time and the show changed my life but I just kind of knew it was time to do something different." 

Before going into last nights show Simon agreed with me telling Ellen, "If you'd of asked me five or six weeks ago, 100 percent I would have said Crystal, but now I've changed my mind." I think last night's performances changed his mind back again! It did mine.

We'll crown a new American Idol tonight on Fox.
