Today I'm thinking about the American Idol Mentor for tonight. Miley Cyrus is going to be mentoring the remaining 11 American Idol contestants. Not sure I'm very excited about that considering her recent comments about country music.  She said when asked in an interview why she hasn't broken into the country scene, "It scares me, that's why. It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you're wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it's not going to sell. I think that's why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all." I just hope she doesn't pass her philosophy of country music on to those awesome contestants who could become country artists. And I hope she doesn't give any of the female contestants wardrobe suggestions or naughty dancing lessons. 

It must be Disney teen week because Joe Jonas and his girlfriend Demi Lovato will perform on Wednesday's results show.

Conan O'Brien has been invited to be on American Idol this year however his contract with NBC is standing in the way. Fox has reportedly asked Conan O'Brien to host their Idol Gives Back special on April 21st. However, NBC says hosting the annual American Idol charity show would violate the terms of Conan's Tonight Show settlement which prohibits Conan from making TV appearances until May 1st.
