Today I'm thinking about Jessica Simpson's new show on VH1 called the "Price of Beauty". Jessica and her friends travel the world to see what is beautiful in different cultures.
Jessica has faced a lot of scrutiny because of her weight, her wits and her relationships. According to Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins, if we all knew her like he does we'd love her like he does. Perhaps in this new reality series we'll see more of the Jessica he loves.
On the premiere of the show Monday night on VH1 Jessica Simpson says, “There’s a lot of pressure to feel beautiful.” She adds, “There’s always a new diet to follow, a new product. But is that really what defines beauty?” She's embarking on this adventure to figure that out and hopefully find beauty in herself.
Any woman who has been ridiculed as much as Jessica would be questioning her own beauty. Media calling her fat and stupid, one failed relationship after another. A reason why this beautiful girl is on a hunt to find beauty I'm sure.
She said recently that she has a back up plan in case she doesn't find Mr. Right before she's 40. She says she'll have kids with her gay best friend Ken Paves who joins her in her trek across the world in her reality show "The Price of Beauty." In an upcoming episode he actually gets a Brazilian wax so he could see what women go through for the sake of beauty. He said that Jess had to help hold him down. He said, "It was the most painful and humiliating experience of my entire life."
