I'm thinking again today about American Idol. Or American Idol alumni anyway.

Carrie Underwood's "Play On" tour kicks off in Reading, Pennsylvania tonight. Craig Morgan is opening for her and I understand that they'll be doing a duet every other night at the end of the show.

Speaking of tours American Idol winner from last season, Kris Allen is going out on tour opening for Keith Urban for several of his dates. You may remember that they sang Urban's "Kiss a Girl" together last season on American Idol.

Third place contestant from last year, Danny Gokey will be in Nashville this weekend to play both shows at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday.

Other Danny Gokey news, his debut album, "My Best Days", brought out the fans, with first-week sales of more than 65 thousand copies. The accomplishment nets Gokey the best opening-week sales by a debut country male since Billy Ray Cyrus' "Some Gave All" in 1992. The album's total sales also earn "My Best Days" this week's highest chart entry by a debut artist, landing at #4 on the Top 200 and #3 on the Country Albums Chart.
