Today I'm thinking about the song "Hillbilly Bone", Blake Shelton's latest hit featuring Trace Adkins. Blake tells the Express-News, "Everybody's got a little bit of country in them. Everybody's a little redneck. But [the song] mostly focuses on that no matter who you are or where you live or what you do, there should be something about country music that you can relate to." With a single that celebrates being who you are, Shelton adds that he doesn't apologize for the way he is. He explains, "I never claimed to be anybody other than the guy that likes to go deer hunting and mean, I love to drink and my language could use some work, but I'm that guy. If you don't like that guy or understand him, then you probably shouldn't be listening to my records." But, Blake admits that with being in the public eye, you're gonna face some criticism. He says, "you're really subjecting yourself to everybody's opinion and everybody's politics. Everything you say, whether it's in an interview or on a record, people are going to love you for it and there's going to be a group out there that hates you for it." Shelton continues, "But for the group that hates me for those things, my response is always: 'Well, ya'll can kiss my ass."
Gotta love Blake...or hate him or whatever!
