Today I'm thinking about Darius Rucker judging American Idol.

Darius Rucker loves American Idol. He told OK! Magazine that it's a family event, "We watch American Idol religiously. I love the people who are good, and I love the people who aren't good!"

As for the people who are really really bad that you see during the auditions, he says you can't hold it against the horrible singer, you should be mad at the people in their lives that told them they were good. I know whenever I watch the auditions and someone says they know they're a good singer because their mom said they were I just think your mom is mean! I know as a parent sometimes you lie to spare your child's feelings, but then when they intend to go on national TV you need to spare them the embarrassment because that's way worse.

We all know that Simon Cowell is calling it quits after this season, would Darius consider taking his place? "I think I'd be a great judge," said Darius, "I don't think my friends think I'd be great because I've been told I'd be too nice. But I think I'd be great because I like a lot of different things. You can play a Frank Sinatra tune, and I'll sing it. You can play a Hank Williams tune, and I'll sing it. Play and R.E.M. tune, and I'll sing it. I've had a little bit of success in this business. I think I'd be an alright judge."

Darius says he's pulling for Andrew Garcia this season. That makes me question is judging ability :)
