Evolution of Country

Posted by Nikki Montgomery on

Today I'm thinking about how much country music has changed over the last 6 decades.

It has evolved into something new. Some hybrid between country and rock and even a little hip-hop.

One country artist in particular draws inspiration from hip-hop. Luke Bryan admits he likes hip-hop a lot. He recently got to see T-Pain perform and said, "I don't get many opportunities to go outside of my box and watch a hip-hop show of that magnitude and when you see the energy from a hip-hop show I was like immediately going, 'Oh, I could do that in my show,' and not over the top stuff, but you understand why hip-hop does so well.  It's a high energy show and I think in the end that's what it's all about-to make a high energy show."

I truly believe that's why country has survived so long with so much success because it has evolved.
