Carrie Underwood supports Idols

Today I'm thinking about American Idol thanks to Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood obviously got her start on Idol by winning the competition in 2005, but she hasn't left the show in her past. She told Reuters that she thinks it's extremely important for Idols to stay true to what the audience voted for to achieve success.

Kris Allen last year's winner, runner-up Adam Lamber and Allison Iraheta are all set to release albums in the next few weeks. Underwood reveals that out of last season's American Idol contestants she was a fan of Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. Carrie and I have something in common because I was a huge fan of Danny's too if you recall.  As a side note: Danny Gokey will be releasing a country CD in 2010, YAY!!

Carrie also proudly supports my fav from 2 seasons ago 2008 winner David Cook who will appear on her Fox variety special, Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special, on December 7th. Joining her and Cook are Kristin Chenoweth and Dolly Parton. Dolly's participation on the show was a "dream come true" for Carrie. She adds, "When Dolly's there, you just sort of step out of the spotlight and let her do her thing, because no matter how hard you try she's going to steal the spotlight, and it's great."
