Jimmy Wayne is taking on a big task in order to help a cause close to his heard-the plight of the homeless. At a press conference in Nashville yesterday, Jimmy revealed his plans to walk halfway across America as part of "Meet Me Halfway," a campaign that Wayne started to raise awareness and funds to assist the homeless. Jimmy's walk will begin January 1st at 10:00am, at Monroe Harding, an organization that helps at-risk youth, in Nashville. The end goal is for Jimmy to reach Phoenix, Arizona, the location of HomeBase Youth Services which will receive any donations that Wayne collects through "Meet Me Halfway." HomeBase Youth Services provides help to homelss young adults.
Wayne says, "I realize beginning a mission like this in the dead of winter and walking through the middle of the country is going to be difficult, but I hope and pray I am up to the challenge." He continues, "It's going to be cold, rainy and maybe even snowing and that ground I sleep on at night is going to be really hard. But that's what the homeless are dealing with each and every winter they go without a home of their own." Jimmy adds, "Because I was helped when I needed it, I want to try and help now."
