Holiday weight gain

Today I'm thinking about holiday weight gain. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I read some tips today on easy ways to lose weight. Eat Tomatoes! Apparently the same thing that makes tomatoes red also banishes your appetite! Eat slowly. The slower you eat the more time your body has to communicate with your brain to let it know you're full. Drink lots of water! 

Wouldn't it be nice if we all had a nutritionist and a personal trainer to turn to after the holidays?

Dolly Parton tells GAC that she has to work hard at staying trim. She says, "I've been every size in the world in my lifetime, but I've got my weight pretty much where I want it now. I'm just a little more conscious of it these days." She says, "I have a natural energy of my own because I certainly don't dance, and I'm not great with choreographers. I'm not real big on exercise. I'd rather think and write and all that, but I do have to watch what I eat, especially the older I get. I'm a short, little person so I have to really kind of watch the amounts that I eat."

Portion control. That's a lesson most people could learn from Dolly. It's so hard to do over the holidays though when there's so much food and people trying to shove it down your throat constantly. Little bits of everything that's the trick.
