Barely a week after Sony delayed start of production on Spider-Man 4 over issues with the script, the film’s star Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi have dropped out of the project. Reports last week claimed that the studio and Raimi couldn’t come to an agreement regarding the villains for the film. So far, there’s no word on who’ll replace Raimi, and more importantly Maguire, both of whom have been involved in the Spidey franchise from the beginning. Because of this delay, Spidey 4 will now hit theaters sometime in 2012, instead of he originally planned 2011.
