Kellie Pickler was on hand last night at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony center as Music City's most promising music students performed. Kellie was there to present a check for over one million dollars to benefit music education at Nashville public schools from the 2009 CMA Music Festival through the "Keep The Music Playing" campaign. After the presentation, Kellie shared how much being a part of the program means to her:
"This is such a wonderful event to be a part of and I wish they had this in my town growing up because we didn't have, you know, access to hardly any musical instruments and the ones that we did have were not great by no means. So, music is so, so powerful and I truly believe when I say that music heals, I really believe that it's healed me in so many ways. It's really a great, great thing that the CMA Music Festival has done."
