If Hootie & the Blowfish came out today, Darius Rucker tells Billboard they’d have no choice but to be a country band.
He says, “We would have to change the instrumentation on a few songs and rewrite a few songs. I thought we were as close to country music as you could be then. That’s why I thought when I started doing my country records that I wasn’t doing anything different.”
Darius said it might come as a surprise to people that he and the Blowfish play shows together several times a year. He also said that fans of the group can expect a new album and large tour from them in the future.
