A mystery donor to the Salvation Army in Hendersonville, N.C. dropped a diamond ring into a red kettle.

Volunteers were going through donations when they came across a 14-karat gold wedding band and diamond engagement ring wrapped in a dollar bill.

And it had an appraisal note attached to it which valued it at $1,500.

The Salvation Army is considering auctioning off the ring.
