During last night's "X Factor",  Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene were sent to the semifinals... as was Melanie Amaro.

13-year-old Rachel Crow was in the bottom two for the first time, joining Marcus Canty.

Marcus sang Rose Royce's "I'm Going Down," while Rachel tore into Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind".
 
L.A. Reid voted for his man while both Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul voted for Rachel.

Nicole Scherzinger tearfully announced that she couldn't decide. She then half-heartedly voted for Marcus so that they would be forced to go to deadlock.

Then Steve announced that Rachel was going home, and she collapsed into tears and crumpled to the ground sobbing.

"Simon!" she cried. Her mom even came out to the stage to comfort her. Rachel screamed, "Mommy, you promised!"

A couple minutes later, she had composed herself and thanked all her fans.
