The wounded army veteran who won this season of “Dancing with the Stars” was honored as a hero at the Pentagon on Thursday.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta invited JR Martinez to come to Washington to celebrate his win. JR suffered severe burns in a roadside bombing, years before becoming an actor.
In the brief meeting, Martinez stressed his mission to help the American public to better connect with America's military veterans – especially the wounded soldiers.
