Make The Talking STOP!!!!

Posted by Addi Scott on

Our youngest son Will turned 4 in September, which means he missed the cutoff for starting 4 year old preschool by 17 days. Bummer. I wasn't too upset about it because he is the baby so I was excited to get to spend more time with him, especially one on one. Now, 6 months later, the kid is driving me batty. We have a very structured day that is almost always exactly the same. Here is how it goes:

7am: Get big kids up to get ready for school, Will normally gets up at the same time.

7:01: Will starts asking for breakfast before he is even out of his room.

7:02: I get Will and the other two breakfast.

7:20ish: Will finishes breakfast and immediatly asks to play either the Wii, or with the iPad. Which I tell him (like every day) that he cannot play on anything until after Emma and Jack go to school.

7:30: Will asks for a snack. I say no. Snack time is at 10 oclock...Will says in 10 minutes? I say no 10 oclock...when the clock says 10:00. Will says ok.

7:32:Will asks for a snack. I say no. Snack time is at 10 oclock...Will says in 10 minutes? I say no 10 oclock...when the clock says 10:00. Will says ok.

7:34:Will asks for a snack. I say no. Snack time is at 10 oclock...Will says in 10 minutes? I say no 10 oclock...when the clock says 10:00. Will says ok.

7:36:Will asks for a snack. I say no. Snack time is at 10 oclock...Will says in 10 minutes? I say no 10 oclock...when the clock says 10:00. Will says ok.

You see the pattern...this goes on until 10:00.

10:00: Will gets a snack. While eating said snack he starts asking if I am making him lunch. I say no Will, you are having a snack right now. I will make your lunch at 11:30. So 10 minutes? No Will, when the clock says 11:30 then I will make you your lunch. Will says I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I say I know Will, that is what you have every day. He says ok.

10:02: Will asks if I am making him lunch. I say no Will, you are having a snack right now. I will make your lunch at 11:30. So 10 minutes? No Will, when the clock says 11:30 then I will make you your lunch. Will says I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I say I know Will, that is what you have every day. He says ok.

10:04:Will asks if I am making him lunch. I say no Will, you are having a snack right now. I will make your lunch at 11:30. So 10 minutes? No Will, when the clock says 11:30 then I will make you your lunch. Will says I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I say I know Will, that is what you have every day. He says ok.

10:06:Will asks if I am making him lunch.I say no Will, you are having a snack right now. I will make your lunch at 11:30. So 10 minutes? No Will, when the clock says 11:30 then I will make you your lunch. Will says I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I say I know Will, that is what you have every day. He says ok.

10:08: Will SCREAMS from living room I HAVE TO GO POTTY!!!!! I say, then go. He goes and then explains to me for approximately 12 minutes how he pulled his own pants down, peed standing up, pulled his pants back up and washed his hands all by himself.

10:10:Will asks if I am making him lunch.I say no Will, you are having a snack right now. I will make your lunch at 11:30. So 10 minutes? No Will, when the clock says 11:30 then I will make you your lunch. Will says I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I say I know Will, that is what you have every day. He says ok.

Again, you see the pattern. This goes on until 11:30 when I finally make him his beloved pb and j.

He starts preschool on March 5th. I have never been so excited in MY LIFE!!!
