It's no secret, I have a 3 year old… a little boy who is 3 going on 16. He is what I like to call a “sass-hole”. (world's okayest mom over here!). Anyways… the last few weeks, he has proven time and time again that he is indeed my child. As if the 14 hours of labor hadn't proven that already.
The last few weeks, the stuff that has come out of his mouth has made cringe, yet laugh hysterically at the same time. It's hard not to laugh when ridiculous things come out of such a tiny person. Not even just words, his gestures.
Prime example: A little back story, my son has started counting on his fingers, but he doesn't use the typical fingers to represent certain numbers. My friend and I took our kids to the park. When it came time to leave, my son yells ONE MORE MINUTE! and flips me the bird. Now, I know it wasn't intentional because he was showing me the #1. But that didn't stop me, my friend and every other parent at the park from bursting out laughing. I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard. Needless to say, I granted him one more minute for the sheer fact that it took me a minute to regain my breathe.
Another example: A few days ago, he went to the fridge to grab a yogurt. I then asked him why he left the fridge door open. His response “The grapes needed some air.” …. I couldn't even be mad. He gets his sarcasm from me. *shrugs*
Another example: Yesterday my son and I were driving in the car. I had the radio on low because I had a headache. It's relatively silent in the car when my son blurts out of nowhere, “mom…you drive me nuts.”
I'm well aware that he got that saying from me because I tell him all the time that he's driving me nuts, but to hear it come from him out of nowhere put me in a state of shock. When I asked what I did, he responded “I don't know, you just do.” Back atcha kiddo!
Having a 3 year old is tiring but so full of love and endless entertainment.
