I can't begin to say enough about the Hodag Country Music Festival. I am so in awe of how amazing that place is and how different it is for any other music festival I've ever attended or worked at. As radio people, we get a different experience, but we get to see everything from different points of view. It's like one giant family reunion.
I had someone come up and ask me who ran the festival. They thought it was corporate ran. What some may not know is, there's a family working behind it. Several generations of a family work tirelessly year round to make the festival happen. One of the family members also wanted us to know without their dedicated staff, it'd never happen. So, thank you to each and every member of their family and their hired staff because everyone I came across was amazing and personable. Even down to the septic pump guys (see Chandra's photo). They all made the best of the heat and showed how much they loved being there.
This was my second year and I had so many friendly faces from last year come up to me just to say hello. It was great to see friendly faces and meet a ton of new listeners… I also got some great dad jokes out of it!
I was living my best life when I met Michael Ray… if you haven't seen the video of me interviewing him, check it out,

Lindsay Ell, let me tell you, she is one of THE NICEST people you will ever meet. She is really going places. Her and I have a beef though because she's on tour with Michael Ray right now…and it's not fair lol. She's still one of my new BFFs.
I'm so honored to be apart of such an amazing staff at WDEZ and to have a working relationship with such a great event. I am humbled by every opportunity that I get and I can't wait til Hodag 2020!
