We've all heard the saying, "an apple a day will keep the doctor at bay...!" Well, yes there really is some truth to that. As we are nearing the fall season, one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our children is load up on food that will help keep our bodies healthy as the weather changes.
Did you know that apples contain powerful antioxidants which help to fight off free radicals in the body? Did you know that like orangs and kiwi, apples also contain lots of vitamin C? Yep...apples can fight off colds too! And...they help to boost brain power, detoxify the liver.
More kudos to apples because they also contain a fiber called pectin which affords the body other wonderful, health improving benefits. Where diabetes is a concern; the fiber in apples help to regulate the blood sugar rollercoaster. In dealing with gall stones, the fiber helps to control cholesterol levels. For that pesky constipation or diarrhea, fiber helps to either draw in or reduce the amount of water in the colon for bathroom ease. For hemorrhoid problems, fiber helps to prevent strain on the rectum. As for controlling weight, many problems with our health is simply do to being overweight. KNOW that a fiber-rich diet (eating plan) will definitely help to improve your overall health.
