Or, more specifically, is quinoa part of your diet?
Do you even know what it is?
No, I didn't either until I saw it on a list of Super Foods at www.tesh.com.
In fact, the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations has declared this year "The International Year of the Quinoa". And, it's September. Who knew?
For the uninformed like me, quinoa is actually a seed, but it can be prepared similar to grains in salads or stir fry's or even used in place of rice. In fact, you can cook it just like rice very quickly. It's even been touted as a breakfast meal like oatmeal.
And, nutritionally, it's loaded with fiber and iron to help with weight loss and boost your brain power!
Look for quinoa near rice, barley or couscous in your favorite store and see what you can come up with!
