  • Gene Simmons' daughter auditions for X Factor

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

xfactorI don't typically watch X Factor, but it was on the in the background last night as I was playing with Mia. I ended up getting sucked in when they promoted that Gene Simmons daughter would be auditioning. Of course they say that 20 minutes before it actually happens so I got stuck watching the show, the whole time trying to figure out what Demi's jacket was made of and wondering why Brit was wearing LA Reid's glasses.

So find out here if the audition was worth waiting for:

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds wed in a secret ceremony and now we're getting a look at Blake's Bling courtesty of E! News Now.

According to E!Online the couple exchanged vows in front of friends on September 9th, but public record shows that they didn't apply for their marriage license until September 13th so September 14th is listed as their official marriage date.

After a quick weekend honeymoon at Little Washington Blake is back on the set of Gossip Girl. A girl's gotta work I guess, but if I were her I'd spend a little more time just enjoying the hotness of my new hubby!

  • OMG!! Dexter returns Sept 30!

DexterI don't know how it's possible that this show gets better and better every season, but it does. I thought John Lythgoe was the best bad guy ever! Then thought the show was even more amazing when Julia Stiles played Lumen in Season 5. But wait when Colin Hanks joined the cast in Season 6 as the bad guy that was the best yet. I never saw that curve coming! Deb discovered that she's IN LOVE with Dexter?! Oh and the last scene of Season 6 when Deb walked in on Dex OMG!! My heart stopped. Season 7 starts off where Season 6 left off on Sunday September 30th on Showtime. Is it possible that this season could be even better than last? It looks like Dexter is actually the bad guy!

I love this event. I had so much fun when I emceed the Big Chef Showdown the first couple years of Big Taste and have such fond memories of working with all the amazing chefs. I had no idea the culinary talent the Wausau area had until the Big Taste. I discovered new restaurants that my husband and I have enjoyed since tasting their samples at Big Taste.

  • Money for Music COMING SOON

    Money for Music

Money For Music is coming soon to 101.9 WDEZ. For all of you who have participated in the past it will work pretty much the same. We will start the competition on September 17th.

Area schools will compete for votes to win money for their music program. WDEZ believes that music is a great expression of creativity and it is important to keep it alive in schools. With schools facing budget cuts year after year the arts are the first to suffer. We want to help by providing scholarships to support those programs for area students.

This year we will award money to the top 5 schools! We are handing out more money than ever before and we'll award other prizes for our video categories as well. Students have already told us that they are working on their Money for Music videos for this year and we can't wait to see them.

If you want your school to participate in the competition send this link to your school administrator

Administrators, sign up online now to help support your music program.

Participation is free and all we want from you is your votes. Vote for your school to win. Get all your friends, family and distant relatives to vote onine starting September 17th.

    Be listening for more details!
