Darius RuckerToday I'm thinking about exercise. I'm sure I don't have to remind you that I'm a huge advocate for exercise. So I'm blogging about this to show my support for First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign to encourage communities, families and kids to lead healthier, more active lives. Darius Rucker has joined CMT One Country to show his support too. Darius says, "I have three children, so fitness and health are serious concerns in our household. I've been blessed to have a wonderful wife that starts my family's healthy lifestyle initiative at home, but there are so many children out there without that guidance and encouragement. By making this a community effort, we can extend that knowledge beyond just the household and make an active lifestyle a way of life."

  • Tall vs short

Julianne Taylor KellieToday I'm thinking about what it would be like to be tall. Us short people always wish we could be taller and tall people wish they could be shorter. It's one of those grass is always greener situations.

Take a look at this picture. Notice that Julianne Hough and Kellie Pickler are both wearing heels (you can see how incredibly high Kellie's are) and Taylor Swift is wearing flats and she still towers over the other two country blondes.

Taylor Swift measures a supermodel height of 5'11"! For a woman that's tough considering the average man is 5'10".

Taylor says tall men make her heart swoon. She says her heart skips a beat when she meets someone taller than her. "The bad thing about being tall is the majority of people are at a different eye level than you, and so you feel like you're looking down to talk to people, which is kind of unnatural looking down to talk to people, and they have to look way up to talk to you." Taylor adds, "It just depends on what group of people you're around. If there are a few scattered tall people in the room or in the group of people that you're talking to, it's not awkward at all. But if you're around a bunch of little, mini-people and you're the only giant in the circle, it can be kind of interesting."

I'm pretty sure I'd be considered a mini-person in Taylor's mind being that I'm only 5'5". I am taller than Kellie Pickler though so I've got that going for me.

  • American Idol Hollywood Week

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    2/9/10

American IdolToday I'm thinking about Hollywood week! It's Hollywood week on American Idol and it's Ellen's first show tonight! I think she's going to be awesome. You may remember our American Idol expert my BFF Felicia, she & I talked for hours about how much fun Ellen is going to be as a judge on the show.

It's going to be different without Paula, but I think Ellen is a great replacement.

We learned a couple months ago that this will be Simon Cowell's final season. I hope that they find as good a replacement for him. I fear that may not be the case though. Rumors have surfaced suggesting that Fox is interested in a radio talk show host. Someone who I can't stand and I don't understand how such a slimeball has had so much success in his career. I don't think he will be a good fit on a family show that is geared toward a female audience.

Stern CowellHoward Stern!!! "There's not a better job on the planet than judging that (bleeping) karaoke contest," Stern said. "It might be possible, we'll see. They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough."

WHAT A JERK!! "That (bleeping) karaoke contest" did he really just call the most popular talent show on TV a "karaoke contest!"

I can tell you this right now that if there is an announcement made that Howard Stern will be the celebrity to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol the last episode of this season will be the last episode of the show I ever watch!

What do you think about Howard Stern taking over for Simon Cowell? (comment below)

  • Being famous

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    2/8/10

Taylor SwiftToday I'm thinking about "Valentine's Day" which comes out in theaters on Friday. A whole movie about love. Taylor Swift has a small role in the movie with former flame Taylor Lautner. The two of them were photographed everywhere they went! Must be stressful to be constantly followed by photographers when you're trying to spend time with someone special. It makes you wonder how being famous changes relationships?

Taylor Swift doesn't mind being in the public eye...all the time! She tells Australia's Herald Sun, "I'm never gonna have that moment when I lash out and scream and yell about the fact that people are watching me, because I asked for this life and this career." She also says that she isn't going to let others watching her every move influence her dating life. Recently she has been linked to Glee's Cory Monteith and John Mayer. She reveals, "I never want to turn into that person who says to whoever I may be seeing or thinking about going on a date with: 'Let's not go to dinner in public tonight because that might get written about.' I don't want to let the fact that people are watching me change the course of my actions in relationships." She claims that if she finds the right person no matter how busy her schedule she will find time to fit in romance, "There's always time! I'll make time for someone if I'm intrigued by them or I want to get to know them. I'm a hopeless romantic. I love the thought that love can happen in an instant and maintain itself and be a success story instead of a failure. I will find time for love if love is worth finding time for."

  • Addiction

    2/5/10

lindsay lohanToday I'm thinking about the addiction problems of Lindsay Lohan. Finding out today that she's not only a recovering alcoholic and drug abuser, but she's also addicted to "stuff". That's right she's a hoarder!

Video footage shows rooms filled with bundles of clothes, as well as boxes and boxes of shoes. In fact, she has so many shoes, that one entire bedroom has been converted to a shoe closet. "It's kind of a sore subject," she says. "I just need to get rid of stuff. That's personal stuff that I have to, you know, work on."

Apparently Lindsay has to have a vice and if it's clothes and shoes that's a whole lot better than drugs and alcohol.

  • Heidi's mom thinks she's a freak

    heidi before and after

Today I'm thinking about Heidi Montag Pratt and how ridiculous this was! She doesn't even look like the same person!

Six weeks after undergoing 10 plastic surgeries in one day, Heidi Montag finally came face-to-reconstructed face with her mother, and mom didn't like what she saw. Heidi told People magazine, "It wasn't like I was her daughter anymore. She was looking at me like I was a circus freak."

I guess her hubby Spencer Pratt wasn't very excited about it either, but did know about the procedures before she had them done. He tried to talk her out of it, obviously she didn't care what her husband had to say about it.

  • Valentine's Day

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    2/3/10

Today I'm thinking about asking Josh to take me to see the movie "Valentine's Day" for Valentine's Day. It looks so cute!

All star cast and Taylor Swift even has a small part in it. Taylor told "Trailer Addict" the role was just too good to pass on. She says, "I got a phone call from [film director] Garry Marshall, saying, 'Taylor, I want to have lunch or breakfast with you. I really want you to be in this movie. Will you? Will you let me write a part for you?' And I could not believe it. I couldn't believe that, because I didn't have the time to be a big role in this movie, Garry was going to write in a small role for me in this movie. It blew my mind."

Though their real life relationship didn't work out Taylor says she had fun filming her scene with movie love interest Taylor Lautner, "It's really a fun scene. We're walking in school and it's interesting because we shot this scene in an active high school. Active as in school was in session while we're filming. Every 30 minutes there would be a bell that would ring and hundreds of students were pouring out, exactly where we were, and there were lots of people screaming out of windows, and groups of kids gathering together chanting things. It was definitely an interesting and very exciting day."

Taylor also contributed 2 songs to the soundtrack for the movie which hits theaters on February 12th.

  • Superstar Approval means a lot

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    2/2/10

lady aToday I'm thinking about how important peer approval is no matter who you are. Lady Antebellum is riding high off of earning their very first Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for "I Run To You".

Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum told the Tennessean, "I really do care what George Strait thinks of us. I care what Reba thinks. I want Keith Urban to listen to our record and come up and say, 'What a song.' We want that stamp of approval from the superstars saying we're representing this genre well because they know it better than we know it."

One day they might be the ones new artists want approval from.

Today I'm thinking about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I'm pretty sure my hubby and I will have to make a trip there once they open. He's a huge Harry Potter fan. I like the movies, but he will watch them over and over and over again, he has one of the video games and he reads the books over and over too.

  • Posh Spice and J. Lo the same size?

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    1/29/10

PoshToday I'm thinking about something Victoria Beckham said that I just can't believe.

Victoria Beckham claims that she and Jennifer Lopez fit into the same clothes! During a recent interview, Victoria Beckham said, "my dresses are for women of all different shapes and sizes. Actually, the one I tried on yesterday was the one Jennifer [Lopez] wore. Who'd have thought I'd be the same size as Jennifer Lopez?" NO ONE!

Victoria Beckham needs to eat a double cheese burger with fries everyday for like a year! She's way too skinny. At least J. Lo has curves!

J.LoI think that if Posh wore the same dress as J. Lo she must have been swimming in it. Look at the size of their shoulders in relation to their heads then look at the size of their hips in relation to their shoulders. There's no way they wear the same size.

    OK that's enough about that.

  • Celebrity celebrity crushes

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    1/28/10

Lady AToday I'm thinking about celebrity crushes. Everyone has a few, but you don't often think of celebrities having celebrity crushes.

Lady Antebellum shares their celebrity crushes. Hillary Scott says she's got the hots for actor, Ryan Reynolds (me too!!) and Caleb Followill, lead singer of Kings of Leon.

Dave Haywood likes the actress who plays Sloan on Entourage, Emmanuelle Chriqui and he also digs Teri Hatcher. Dave says, "She's always been the queen." Charles laughs, "Dave, the cougar chaser. I like it!"

Crushes are one thing, but when it comes to dating the guys are a little protective of young Hillary. She says, "Charles always fusses with me when I say this, because he says, 'I never get the calls to go out.' But Dave and I will go out together in Nashville with some of our other friends, and I"m his wingwoman and he's my wingman." She claims, "They want to make sure whoever the guy is has good intentions. And they're good judges of character, which is a good thing because I have a tendency to fall really fast." Charles confirms, "She does. And we need no more broken hearts!"

More Lady A news; Hillary Scott just hosted a housewarming party and the guest list included friend, Taylor Swift. Hillary says, "With all the stuff that Taylor has going on and the laundry list of things that she's required to do every day, she is very thoughtful and takes care of her people and takes care of her friends."

  • Being Curvy in a size 0 world

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

    1/27/2010

alicia keysToday I'm thinking about being curvy in a size 0 world. Thanks to all these fashion designers using models size 0 and less (yes I said yes and I'm not exaggerating there are negative sizes!) and magazines airbrushing stars it's no wonder why the world not only feels fat, but is. Why should we even try to strive for the impossible of looking like one of them? May as well enjoy life and get fat right?

Some stars are doing something about it. I blogged yesterday about Kourtney Kardashian calling out OK! Magazine for airbrushing her post baby body. Here's what Alicia Keys has to say about airbrushing, "Sometimes I've gotten photographs back and people have literally shaven off pieces of me, and I tell them to put it back. I'm not ashamed of what I am and that I have curves and that I'm thick."

Tyra Banks has been very vocal about the unhealthy lifestyles of models. Quick fact about Tyra she was so tall and thin as a teenager she thought she could do nothing but be a model. Then as she matured she became more curvy and became the largest Victoria's Secret model of her time.

Tyra Banks is so passionate about models being healthy over thin that she is launching a first ever plus sized teen model search! She announced on her talk show that she's looking for young, plus-sized women, ages 13 to 19, to compete in her Fiercely Real Teen Model Search. "I've always felt it was my mission to expand the narrow perceptions of beauty," Tyra told Usmagazine.com. "I want young girls to realize that what's considered plus-sized is the average American woman. That woman is healthy, fit and beautiful. Adolescence is such an impressionable time in a young woman's life, and I hope this contest helps teen girls discover their own beauty from the inside out."

I love Tyra Banks and I applaud her for breaking all the rules.

Information on the contest and how to enter is on her show's website.
