We know Aunt Flow is coming for a visit and we all dread it. It's not sunshine and daisies, it's miserable and unavoidable.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head:

As not awesome as that time of the month is there is one company that is trying to make it a little more bearable by sending you a period care package every month.

Le Parcel is offering a monthly tampon delivery service. What's so wonderful about that? Well, it's not just tampons! For a $15 monthly subscription you can get up to 30 of your favorite brand of sanitary products, a gift and chocolate! When ordering you put in your cycle information and they will ship you your care package each month in plenty of time to greet Aunt Flow.

  • Britney out, who's in on the X-Factor

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

britBritney Spears out of X-Factor judging gig. Spears and Demi Lovato were added to the judges panel in place of Nicole Scherzinger in hopes that their "star power" would grow its audience, but the show actually suffered a 25% drop in the ratings. Insiders say that Fox has agreed to renew the show on one condition that it drastically reduce it's overhead. Brit's $15 million paycheck is a pretty easy cut especially when she didn't bring what Simon Cowell expected.

Show insiders say that Cowell wanted crazy head shaving Britney not boring Brit, whose judging vocabulary consists of "awesome" and that's about it. So I chuckle a little when I see who they're talking to about replacing the boring blond...LeAnn Rimes!

It may be because the most talked about moment of the entire season was this debacle:

Was she drunk? Was it her fault Carly Rose lost? LeAnn says it was 13 year old Carly Rose's nerves that made the duet sound so bad. Well, regardless this performance sparked a lot of media attention.

LeAnn is very good at keeping herself in the public eye, she is the one tipping off the paparazzi afterall. If Simon wants crazy she may just be the perfect fit.

What do you think about LeAnn Rimes replacing Britney Spears as a judge on The X-Factor?

  • Zooey Dechanel & Joseph Gordon-Levitt New Years Eve Duet

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

Zooey Dechanel is one of my favorite actors. I think she's adorable as Jess on New Girl. Interviews I've seen with her and funny or die videos give me the impression that she would be a ton of fun to hang out with. This video and the blurb she wrote about it (beneath the video) when she uploaded it to Youtube backs it up.

    Uploaded on Dec 28, 2011

I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year's duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY!

  • Cold and flu season hits hard at work

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

cold and fluThe flu and colds are going around like crazy right now. I have a cold that's lasted 2 weeks and I think has transformed into a sinus infection. I am going to give it two days on Mucinex D to see if it gets any better and if not I'm going to cave and go to the doctor.

Bryan has been struck down by a stomach bug that sounds like the same one that took out my mom, husband and daughter over the weekend. There are a few other people out of work today thanks to the flu so gotta be sure to wash our hands around here.

Are you sick? Should you stay home? Take this quiz to find out how well you know the flu and colds http://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/rm-quiz-difference-cold-flu

    Take care!!

  • Fun Holiday nails

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

holiday nailsLast week I decided to do something fun with my nails for the holidays. I got this pretty red polish that had a little glitter in it and decided to do a french manicure with it. I started by painting my nails with a super sheer pink fine glitter polish then did the french manicure. If you're not very good at doing a french manicure free hand an easy trick is to put the binder hole enforcers on your nails paint and peel them off. Once I had the red on the tips I added a stripe of silver glitter from LA Colors stripe line. Then I used a nail in a pencil eraser as a dotting tool to make the snow man body. I used an official small dotting tool in black polish and barely touched the snowman to make the eyes, mouth and buttons. I then used the same dotting tool to draw the snowman arms. I used a line brush to brush on the X for the snowflake. Then used the small dotting tool to add the white dots to the ends of the lines and in between the lines and connected them to the X with a light drag motion. After that I put a clear coat on and the manicure still looks great and it's been over a week now.

I'd live to see some of your creative nail designs please send them to me at nikki.montgomery@mwcradio.com and I will gladly blog them for you. If you try this nail design I'd love to see it too!!

  • Shocked by the Suzy Favor-Hamilton news!

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

kelly lundyI was completely disconnected from the world since last week Wednesday. Between building Christmas presents, trying to pack and get organized for the holidays and being sick I had no idea what was going on in the outside world. Apparently I missed a huge story!

When I came into work this morning I heard the news that Suzy Favor-Hamilton had lost her endorsements and spokesperson jobs. Bryan shot a look at me and said, "Did you hear about that?" I was of course lost and he told me about the story that broke last Thursday about Suzy being a high priced escort. He then told me to go to our news section on wdez.com to read more about it because the whole story was pretty unbelievable.

As I was reading the news stories my mind drifted back to all the times I've worked with Suzy over the past 4 years and how I could not imagine her doing something like that with a successful career and a beautiful family. But as I read her personal comments about the reasons behind her choices I also remembered her bouts with depression years before I had met her and the stress of imperfection she had dealt with during her Olympic years and even the eating disorder she struggled with when she was young. I realized that there is so much more to a person than the face they put on when they are working. I have only had contact with Suzy in relation to work never on a personal level so I don't really know her. The Suzy I know is spunky and peppy and happy all the time. She is always smiling and trying to make others happy.

Her desire to please others is something that she actually addressed in her Haley Heston profile under the name "Kelly Lundy". Her profile also mentions that discretion is extremely important to her yet she told some clients her true identity.

She was betrayed by one of these clients she confided in and approached in a hotel. Initially she denied the allegations, but later admitted she in fact was Kelly. However, it was only a matter of time, if it hadn't been a reporter approaching her it could've been law enforcement soon. Haley Heston Private Collection, the illegal escort service has been under investigation by Nevada police and the FBI due to the fact it operates over state lines. The connection of Hamilton with the site had been discovered so it would not have been long before Suzy would most likely be facing prosecution for prostitution. At least now she may be able to work out a deal to take down Haley Heston.

I am so disappointed as I am sure many others are that this woman who I personally have looked up to and enjoyed knowing for a number of years could be leading a double life like this. And her poor husband must be beyond embarrassed since he knew about it and tried to get her to stop. I do wish the best for her and I hope she finds the help that she needs to get through this. She is not a bad person she just made bad choices and she admits it was a "huge mistake."
