Well, there is good news and bad news about this guys's Christmas decorations this year . . .Good news is that he truly out did himself this year. The bad news is that he had to take them down after 2 days.
He had more people come screaming up to his house than ever, abandoning their cars on his lawn, etc. But two things made him have to take it down.
First, the Police advised him that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked their own cruiser when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder and almost killed herself climbing up to the top before she realized it was decoration.
David Hasselhoff's ex Pamela Bach issued a statement yesterday trying to get The Hoff to seek treatment for his alcohol problem. "The despair—feeling hopeless and unable to believe that things can ever change with David's alcoholism over the years—has affected our whole family," she says. "We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change." She adds, "We ask David's fans, supporters and handlers to take swift action to save this wonderful man's life…We will be forever hurt from this cruel disease. I am grateful for our two daughters, who have been incredibly brave, strong and protective souls."
In other "Pot Calling the Kettle Black" news; Pamela Bach was officially charged yesterday with DUI. Bach was arrested in Los Angeles on November 28th, and, according to an officer, she was "hammered." Bach was charged with one count driving under the influence and one count driving with a blood alcohol level of.08 or higher. If convicted, she could be looking at a minimum five years behind bars.
Tim McGraw says that while he was filming The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock, his wife Faith Hill and the movie star became close friends. He tells Mississippi's Sun Herald, "They got along great. They got to talk about antiques and houses, which is one of Faith's favorite subjects." Faith herself added, "We just talked about decorating, which is something I love doing, and she enjoys doing. We both travel so many places, its fun to discover little secrets in little towns across the country. So we had a lot in common that way."
With the year coming to a close, Time magazine has announced their list of the Top Ten albums of 2009. Two of country's finest made this year's cut. Ranking in the impressive #1 slot is Brad Paisley with American Saturday Night. Miranda Lambert comes in at #4 with her third album, Revolution.
Taylor Swift, (who was sporting straight hair and bangs in NYC this week), will celebrate her 20th birthday on Sunday, and she received quite a nice birthday present from the music industry! Taylor has been named Artist of the Year by Billboard magazine, and she is also queen of the Female Artist of the Year chart. Ironically, her infamous VMA bully, Kanye West, takes the king's crown on the Male Artist of the Year tally. Other country acts who made the the Artist of the Year list include Rascal Flatts at #19 and Zac Brown Band at #20.Swift tells Billboard that she has done a lot of reflecting this past year. She shares, "I'll be driving down the streets I used to drive down in Nashville and my song will come on the radio or I'll pass my high school and something will remind me of how my life was before all of these crazy dreams started coming true. We wished for this, my parents and I, every single day without actually believing it would come true." She says the high moment of this year was her "Fearless" tour, noting, "Every night of that tour felt like a celebration. I never expected it to be as successful as it was." And her low point? Taylor elaborates, "I've had a few days - and everyone has them - where you feel humiliated or you're shocked by something or something knocks you down a few pegs. But in those moments I've been very quick to realize and remind myself that there are people out there with real problems. To get hung up on any bad moment that happened this year would be unfair to all the good moments I've had this year." As for spending more weeks on the Billboard 200 than any other artist this decade, Swift admits she is absolutely floored, adding, "It's really hard for me to wrap my mind around that one."And Taylor can add another accomplishment to her already impressive list this year as her 2009 tour ranks fourth among StubHub's Top 10 Concert Tours. Also snagging a spot at #9 is Kenny Chesney, who hit the road with his "Sun City Carnival" tour this year. The list is based on gross sales.
US Marine Tank Gunnery Sergeant Nick Popaditch joins Lee and Nikki on Friday morning to talk about the War in Iraq. You'll see him featured in "Inside the Iraq War" which premieres on Sunday, December 13th at 8pm on Nat Geo.
Nick Popaditch enlisted in the US Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school. Nick served with the 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and served as a tank commander during Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1991. After 6 years of active duty service Nick was honorably discharged in 1992.
In September of 1995 Nick reenlisted back into the Marine Corps.
During Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Nick was assigned as a tank commander and Platoon Sergeant. Fighting at the "tip of the spear," Nick's unit was recognized worldwide as a symbol of American freedom when it helped topple the infamous Saddam Hussein statue in Firdos Square in April 2003. There, an AP photographer snapped a photograph of Nick in his tank's cupola smoking a cigar with the statue of Saddam looming in the background. The stunning image, which earned him the nickname, "The Cigar Marine," appeared on the front pages of newspapers around the globe. Following his return stateside as a Gunnery Sergeant, Nick volunteered to return to battle in Iraq in 2004.
Popaditch was awarded the Silver Star for actions in combat that April during Operation Vigilant Resolve (the first battle for Fallujah). During the same battle, he was wounded in action by a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) to the head. Blinded, he was medevaced to Germany and then stateside. At Balboa Naval Hospital, 8% of the vision in Nick's remaining left eye was restored. Nick was medically retired at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Watch his story and many others as part of "Inside the Iraq War" on Nat Geo this Sunday night at 8pm. And hear from him personally with Lee and Nikki on Friday morning on the Great Country Morning Show.

Kellie Pickler was on hand last night at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony center as Music City's most promising music students performed. Kellie was there to present a check for over one million dollars to benefit music education at Nashville public schools from the 2009 CMA Music Festival through the "Keep The Music Playing" campaign. After the presentation, Kellie shared how much being a part of the program means to her:
"This is such a wonderful event to be a part of and I wish they had this in my town growing up because we didn't have, you know, access to hardly any musical instruments and the ones that we did have were not great by no means. So, music is so, so powerful and I truly believe when I say that music heals, I really believe that it's healed me in so many ways. It's really a great, great thing that the CMA Music Festival has done."
