    Thanksgiving Leftovers

Wishing the holiday weekend was longer on this Monday, actually every Monday I tend to wish the weekend was longer.  At least the day is half over with, woo hoo!  I’m also wishing I had more leftovers at home from Thanksgiving but I’m all out.  They went fast!  Every year I think we’ll never get through all the leftovers, but every year we do.  Thank goodness a Christmas feast is right around the corner so I can get my fill of more leftovers.  WDEZ Club Bonus is Monday.

    Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky

Chelsea Clinton has announced that she is engaged to longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky. According to ABC News, they sent an email to friends on Friday, Nov. 27.

It read: "We're sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn't get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc."

Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna told ABC News he believed the couple became engaged on Thanksgiving in New York.

Clinton, 29, and Mezvinsky -- the son of former Rep. Ed Mezvinsky, D-Iowa, and former Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy, D-Penn. -- have been close since their teens when their parents worked in D.C. They got even closer when they both attended Stanford University.

  • Tiger Woods Drops Out of Tourney After Mysterious Car Crash and Affair Allegations

    Tiger Woods and wife

In light of his mysterious car crash and affair allegations, Tiger Woods has canceled a news conference Tuesday for the Tiger Woods Foundation and has dropped out of the Chevron World Challenge, his last scheduled competition of the year.  "The press conference with Tiger Woods previously scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 1:45 p.m. has been cancelled," Rachel Rees, public relations manager for The Tiger Woods Foundation, tells Usmagazine.com. "We will provide you with any other press conference updates regarding the Chevron World Challenge field as they become available."

As for dropping out of the Chevron World Challenge, taking place this week in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Woods said on his website: "I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week. I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry I can't be there."

The site said he can't play "due to injuries sustained in a one-car accident."  Woods, 33, has been keeping a low profile since his car accident early Friday morning.  He has nixed three meetings with authorities.

The famed golfer may not be talking because "there is possibly something unpleasant and embarrassing that he doesn't want to share with them, and he has that right," says CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. "Based on what is publicly known, Woods has a public relations problem much more than a legal problem. He's arguably the most famous athlete in the world, and his team's overall strategy is a gamble that his general statement of responsibility won't be overtaken by events or other disclosures."

Woods also has yet to directly address reports that he had an affair with New York nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel.  She has denied an affair and hired celeb lawyer Gloria Allred. "The woman may go public to repeat ... what she's said to the AP and publicly deny the affair, or perhaps to say that she was libeled by the Enquirer," says Toobin. "Gloria Allred's clients tend not to disappear from the news media."

    Martina McBride

Many shoppers across America snapped up high-definition TVs over the weekend, but MARTINA McBRIDE isn't so happy with the one she recently bought. While she loves watching sports on it, Martina thinks everything else looks too real on the big screen. In a recent Twitter post, Martina says, quote, "When I watch TV I want to be taken out of reality. Nothing has any filmic quality at all anymore. Sitcoms, videos...all look cheap and weird."

    Her Twitter Feed...

“Okay. I’m just gonna say it. HDTV sucks. I’m so tired of everything looking like a home movie. How did we get talked into this?”

“When I watch tv,I want 2 B taken out of reality. Nothing has any filmic quality at all anymore. Sitcoms, videos, etc. all look cheap & weird.”

“But it is good for sports. There should just be ‘Sports HDTV’. The rest of it….noooooo.”

Martina won't have much time to watch TV at home this month. She's out with TRACE ADKINS on the Shine All Night tour, which plays Colorado Springs, Colorado this Thursday.
