  • Dancing with the Stars got a little spicy last night

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

Pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy criticized the judges on last night's "Dancing with the Stars".

He specifically called out Len Goodman after receiving 20 out of 30 points for his routine with partner Hope Solo.

After their dance to "Seasons of Love" from the musical "Rent", Len told Hope: "This is your worst dance of the season in my opinion."

    But Maksim disagreed.

After arguing with Len, who scolded the Maks, telling him, "I've been in this business for 50 years,"Maks fired back: "Then maybe it's time to go!"

The two yelled back and forth before Maks and Hope headed backstage, where Maks told host Brooke Charvet, "With all due respect, this is my show. I help make it what it is".

Maks and Hope weren't even the night's lowest scoring duo.

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer's tango to the title track of "The Phantom of the Opera" earned them 19 points.

Meanwhile, J.R. Martinez earned a near-perfect 29 for his quickstep to "Hot Honey Rag" from Chicago.

And Ricki Lake rebounded from last week, nabbing 29 points as well.

One star will be voted off the show tonight.

    The Leaderboard:

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: 29
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: 29
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke: 22
David Arquette and Kym Johnson:  23
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 20
Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus: 24
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer: 19

  • New trend in Bachelorette Parties

    Posted by Bryan Scott

More and more brides are opting for a healthier kind of celebration, taking their bridesmaids on outings to fancy fitness classes like Pilates, yoga and spinning and even participating in 10k races.

Many brides-to-be will include a massage and a dinner party as part of their bachelorette bashes, presumably to ensure their bridesmaids don’t totally hate them after the whole thing is over.  As for the health-conscious trend, experts believe it’s due to the fact that people are waiting longer to get married these days, and slightly older brides are less interested in getting drunk and dancing on tables.

Would you ever hold (or attend) an exercise-based bachelorette party?

  • Your public bathroom fears are true!

According to the Infectious Disease Society, bathroom surfaces in American restaurants, airplanes, stores, hospitals and other busy places can be heavily contaminated with germs that cause illnesses.

    Bottom line: don’t touch anything.

Researchers swabbed faucets, paper-dispenser levers, and door handles inside the bathrooms of four aircraft and 18 other crowded spots like fast-food restaurants.

Among the microscopic critters they commonly found were staphylococcus (which can cause fevers and chills) and bacillus (which can cause diarrhea).

The lead researcher said, “If you have to use it, you have to use it. You just have to be careful where you touch after you wash your hands.”
