mindy mccreadyTroubled country star Mindy McCready shot her dog then herself Sunday on the front porch of the home she shared with her fiance David Wilson who took his own life in the same spot only a month earlier.

Following the death of her fiance Mindy's children were removed from her custody and she was ordered to check into a rehab facility that deemed her fit to be released.

This is a recording of a conversation Mindy McCready had with a private investigator friend the day before she committed suicide in reference to her discovering fiance David Wilson's body a month ago. She also mentions how difficult it was for her in this time of grieving to have her children taken away.

  • Mindy McCready Dead

    Posted by Nikki Montgomery

mindy mccreadyTroubled country star Mindy McCready, 37, found dead Sunday on the front porch of her home of apparent suicide.

Just one month after the suspected suicide of her fiancé and father of her 10 month old baby boy, record producer David Wilson.

Mindy has been in and out of trouble with drugs, alcohol, abuse and legal battles over her 6 year old son Zander.

She entered the country stage in 1996 and during her career put 14 songs and six albums on the Billboard Country charts. Her career came crashing down due to addiction and mental illness.

Country artists offer their condolences this morning:

LeAnn Rimes: "My heart goes out to Mindy McCready's family. I knew her well. It's a horrible tragedy. May peace be with her sons."

Terri Clark: "So sad to hear about Mindy McCready. Had some fun times back in the day. Let's respect her memory and wish her soul peace." "I hope our society shows compassion and realizes the severity and reality of mental illness, and addiction."

Wynonna Judd: "It breaks my heart what addiction continues to take from this life. Addiction is a disease & not a character flaw. When the pain becomes too much, it causes people to want that pain to stop. This is just so unbelievable & so sad."

Carrie Underwood: "I grew up listening to Mindy McCready...so sad for her family tonight. Many prayers going out to them..."

Kelly Clarkson: "Really bummed about Mindy McCready. Totally sucks."

    Martina McBride: "So sad."

Jana Kramer: "So sad to hear about the loss of Mindy. What an insanely talented woman."

Rodney Atkins: "Prayers out to Mindy McCready's 2 boys, family and loved ones."

Darius Rucker: "My love and prayers go out to Mindy McCready's family."

Jason Aldean: "Just heard about Mindy McCready. My thoughts and prayers are with her 2 boys and her family."
