  • Picture a Day

    Posted by Addi Scott

I am working on a project this year. I am going to take 1 picture every day for the whole year of 2011. My question for you you want to see them? I have another blog that I post them on so I can just post the link here every time I update or I can post it here, in addition to all the other antics that go on in the Scott household. I need your input though, because I don't want to post them if you don't want to see post your comments! Let me know what you think!! And if there is something you want to see pictures of, let me know that too! I can only imagine that I will run out of ideas at some point!

  • Goals for a Better 2011

    Posted by Addi Scott

Day 3 of the New Year and things are going well, so far we are sticking to our goals for the most part. I really want to start working out at some point, but still trying to figure out when the best time to do it is. With having the kids I am having a hard time figuring that out. I think I may try tomorrow when the big kids are at school. Any advice?? We have a workout game for the Xbox that I am going to try as well as running on the treadmill. What are some things I should know? Those of you with kids, when do you work out? Is it easier to do it at a gym or at your house?? HELP!

  • Happy New Year Everyone!!

    Posted by Addi Scott

Congratulations, you made it to 2011, and so did the Scott Family!!  2010 was a great year for us, and we are of course hoping that 2011 is going to be even better!!

And you guys are one of my resolutions, I am really going to try to blog every day, because you all read it, so its time I start writing more! I am hoping to post more pictures for you and more videos, so make sure you check back regularly.

Happy New Year everyone, and may 2011 bring many blessings your way!

If you are interested I am also doing a Photo a Day Blog, where I will be taking a photo every day for all of 2011. I tried it last year and failed miserably, so I am trying again!

Here is the link if you want to check it out!

  • How I Spent My Morning

    Posted by Addi Scott

I know you have heard me complain before about how Bryan has one job in this house which is to keep the garage clean. He sucks at his one job. For the last 6 months we have not been able to park either one of our vehicles in the garage. Today, when I had to spend 20 minutes getting all of the snow off of my van, I had had enough. So, I froze my butt off just moving stuff in the garage out of the way enough to park my van in there. Bryan dared to tell me that it could not be done (which is supposedly why he had not done it yet) Never, never tell me I cannot do something, because I will do it even if I die trying. Bry took a picture and posted it on facebook...I had to share Charlis comment on the picture.

"You should've done that! I would be mortified if I was Bryan..he looks like a wuss that sat inside on facebook all day while his wife froze her butt off doing a mans job...sorry Nic!"

And of course, I have to share the picture. Give him crap people!! That is HIS job!!

  • Another Great Christmas Tradition

    Posted by Addi Scott

A few years ago, a friend of ours was telling us about their "elf" that comes around Christmas time. So of course I need to know more. It turns out you can purchase a little kit, called The Elf on The Shelf. It comes with a book and the little elf. The book explains what he does, which is reports to Santa. So you have to behave so that every night when he goes to the North Pole and reports to Santa, he has good things to say about you!  Every morning when he comes back from the North Pole he hides in a different place somewhere in the house, so the kids run down every morning to see who can be the first to find him! It is a great tradition in our house and quite a few friends of ours are doing it too. Sometimes, he even causes problems, like this morning he knocked something over trying to find a spot to hide! So if you are looking for a tradition for your family, or maybe for grand kids or any one really!! The Elf on The Shelf is a great one!!!!

Check out this link for more information

(I know you can purchase it at Hallmark and I have seen it at Barnes and Noble too)

  • Snowy Sunday

    Posted by Addi Scott

With all the snow we got we were home bound all day on Sunday, which can be challenging with a 7, 5, 3 year old, and Bryan. Trying to keep them all entertained while not driving me insane is nearly impossible. So today we kept busy!!  We made cookies and caramel chex mix, taking a baking break of course for the Packer game (although after seeing it, we probably should have just kept busy). I thought I would share pictures with you of some of the cookies we made! It was soooo fun watching the kids be so creative!

They look TOO good to eat!!!

  • The Big Snowstorm??

    Posted by Addi Scott

So it is looking like we are going to be stuck at home all weekend due to the snow.  I am thinking it might be a good excuse to open and early super awesome Christmas present to keep the kids busy?  Bryan and I had this discussion though, I remember that when I was a kid we always got to open one present early (never THE present of course it was usually bandaids or something). But Bryan is all about waiting until Christmas for everything. So what do you do? I know a lot of families have the Christmas festivities spread out for a month before Christmas but we do everything Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so our kids really do have to wait. It is bad to let them open a big family gift before then?

  • 25 Days of Christmas Jar

    Posted by Addi Scott

A few weeks ago I was scanning the internet looking for fun Christmas traditions that people do. I came across one called the 25 Days of Christmas Jar. What it is, is a festive looking jar filled with 25 pieces of paper. Each piece of paper has a different Christmas related activity on it. So every morning our kids pick out a slip before they go to school and then when they get home we do it!  It is the most fun thing that we have ever done! It gives them and me something to look forward to all day. Some examples of what we have in our jar:  Make paper snowflakes, make Christmas cookies, read a Christmas book in Mom and Dads bed, watch a Christmas movie, etc. This is an awesome tradition that we will now have every year!  And its not too late to start it this year, you could do as many days as you want! But do it! I promise your kids will love it.

  • And Yet Another Thanksgiving Update

    Posted by Addi Scott

We are going to the in laws for Thanksgiving!!! As the turkey was cooking it started to really smell bad, so we decided it wasn't worth it and we are going to Bryans brothers house! Thank God for family!!!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and from all 5 of the Scotts to you, drive safely and enjoy your families and food. Pray for those who can't enjoy either one or both, and for our troops who make it so that we can all enjoy our day.
