  • Merry Christmas

    Posted by Addi Scott

Now that everything is done, the presents are wrapped, the treats are made, the cards have been mailed, the house has been cleaned and I don't think there is anything else I need to do to prepare for Christmas, I can finally take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas from The Scotts.  I hope you all have a very happy holiday, get everything you want from Santa, and most of all, I hope you all enjoy your time with your family!!!

  • Mommies Don't Sleep

    Posted by Addi Scott

Can someone explain to me why my kids always get sick when we have plans?  340 days of the year I would say we have no plans and can stay home and take care of them, but they ALWAYS pick on of the 25 days we have big plans to get sick.  Last night Jack (the middle one) was up until about 3 complaining of an earache, needless to say this morning he is super crabby because he didn't get enough sleep.  So he was supposed to have a concert at school this morning which has now been replaced with a doctors appointment.  Tonight him and Emma (our oldest) have been practicing for months for their Christmas concert at church which he will now most likely not make it too.  Hopefully he will be feeling better by tomorrow for the other church concert (there are two shows).  And we have our annual Christmas party at our house tomorrow night which will have to be cancelled if he is not feeling better.  Does it make me a bad mom that I am actually angry right now?!  Will we ever be able to have plans as a family and stick to them again?!

  • The Last Gift

    Posted by Addi Scott

We finally purchased the last gift for Christmas.  We have had all of our shopping done for a few weeks now, but were having a hard time finding the WOW gift for Emma.  She really wanted the Fur Real Friends cat.  So we looked around and I finally found it one night when I was out getting something else.  As I was in my car on the way home, I was very alarmed by the fact that the stupid thing meowed everytime I moved.  So on the 25 minute drive home, it meowed pretty much the whole way home.  So now the question is...where do we hide it?  We can't really put it anywhere in the house because she will here it...or worse yet the dog will hear it and just go nuts. So we have decided to keep it in the trunk of Bryans car and just pray that it doesnt freeze to death.  Wish us luck!

  • Christmas Lights

Bryan and I have lived in our house now since July of last year, and we decided last year to not put up lights outside because we are lazy. So this year we coordinated with our neighbors went and bought lights and I was so excited!! So I waited, and waited, and waited and asked, and asked and asked but I could not get Bryan to go out and put the lights up. So ladies I'm sure you are familiar with this trick, I said fine...if you won't do it then I will. Please note who is putting up the lights in the picture. I win. :)

  • The New TV

    Posted by Addi Scott

I love Cyber Monday, we have been watching TV on a small 32 inch since last Christmas...and this year we decided that we would buy a big screen as a gift for each other. The problem is...we had no idea how expensive this whole deal would be. We got a super good deal on the TV, great. But, did you know it costs about $150 just for the wall bracket to hang it on the wall? And now we are looking for something to put under the TV because frankly, as you can see in the picture, it looks pretty stupid with just that little table under it. So I am thinking that maybe the big screen was not such a good idea.

  • Thanksgiving Crisis #8

When you plan your whole day around knowing you are going to screw something up and you don't. You have A LOT of left overs! Everything turned out great, the company was awesome, and the clean up even went smooth!  I am so thankful for my fabulous husband, and my beautiful (although extremely tired and cranky) kids, and even my in laws are more than any person ask for.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and I hope you all had as good of a day as we did.

  • Thanksgiving #7

Ok, I guess there is too MUCH time. Turkey is done about an hour before it should be.  If I could just get the timing down...I think I would be ok!

  • Thanksgiving Crisis #5

Turns out all of the desserts that I was planning on serving today, should have been made last night. Crap. FESTIVAL RUN!!!

7:08 am - Halfway through opening 4 cans of Green Beans for Green Bean casserole and the can opener breaks. Walmart run!

  • Thanksgiving

    Posted by Addi Scott

We are having Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year and this is the first year that I am in charge of doing it all by myself. So since its not even 7am and we have already had two problems...I have decided to share the issues of the day with all of you...so that I am venting instead of totally freaking out.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

5:45 am - Wake up to find that our 6 year old daughter Emma has been awake since 12:30 am...she thought it was noon.  Not good.

6:43 am - After searching for the giblets for about 20 minutes we decided that our Turkey must not have a bag of them, so we started cooking it.  At 6:43 I finally figured out that there are TWO cavities, we removed the bag and the Turkey is now cooking again. :)

  • Whoopsie Doo?!

    Posted by Addi Scott

I really cannot stand watching TV with the kids arount this time of year. Every single anything that comes on they want it.  So we were just sitting here watching a show and a commercial comes on for a doll called Whoopsie Doo who goes number 1 AND number 2!  I want to know who would buy a doll who poops and pees! Do you really think your child is going to clean that up? I know ours wouldn't!  I think I will stick with things like puzzles and books...less chance of gagging.
