  • Umm...now what do we do?

    Posted by Addi Scott

We bought Will his halloween costume the other day. He picked it out online and when it got here he was SO excited...until he realized he had to wear it. I made him put it on, because I am a mean mommy, and he cried the whole 5 minutes he had it on!  Has anyone ever had this happen?! I don't know what to do? I don't want him to be traumatized and hate Halloween if I make him wear it, but we did pay for it and if he can get past it I am sure he will have fun trick or treating...right?? And no, its not a scary costume, its Mickey Mouse, and he LOVES Mickey Mouse...so NOW what?!

  • Be Grateful

    Posted by Addi Scott

I have always been a "glass half empty" kind of girl. I have been trying lately to be more positive, and be grateful for the things I have instead of focusing on the things we don't. I am sharing this with you because it has changed a lot around here!  Jack was sick today and stayed home from school, and I hate to have sick kids because I feel bad when there is nothing I can do for them. But today, I decided that I should be grateful that when they are sick, we have insurance and we have the money we need to buy medication when we need it.  I was not able to get my normal stuff done today, but I was grateful that we have enough money to buy clothes for our family, even though it creates GIANT piles of dirty laundry. I was grateful that we have so many toys for our kids that our house is always a mess, and that our kids are healthy enough to make those messes.  So you try it, look, around and instead of getting frustrated or overwhelmed, just be grateful. It makes the day a lot more enjoyable.

  • What a GREAT Daddy...

    Posted by Addi Scott

This morning I was busy working, and Emma really wanted someone to paint her nails. So daddy volunteered. She was a little hesitant at first, thinking that maybe he was not qualified to do it because he is a boy. So in the end I think he did a pretty good job, and I think he secretly enjoyed doing it.

  • Are you Kidding Me?!

    Posted by Addi Scott

Today was Jacks third day of Kindergarten, and yes, I still get teary eyed every single time I drop him off. But today, I outright cried! When we pulled up and I was getting out to walk him up to the door, he looked at me and said "Mom, why don't you just stay here, I can do it." Seriously?! No you can't!! Your not even old enough to be gone away all day every day and now you think you can walk yourself up to the door all by yourself! I am glad that he is doing well, and that he has that confidence, but still, couldn't he just fake cry for me one day?

  • Camping

    Posted by Addi Scott

Emma and I are going camping for the weekend, leaving Bryan home with the 2 boys to fend for themselves. This could be intersting. I expect that I will come home to a very messy house and some hungry kids. :) Don't get me wrong, I love Bryan, but when it comes to things like this, it could easily go either way. So pray for me, and that I will not have to spend the next week cleaning up after 3 very messy boys. And pray for no rain! I have not been camping since I was about 10 years old, and Emma has never been so we are both pretty excited!!

  • Finally

    Posted by Addi Scott

We have lived here for about 2 years, and I have not been able to find a hair stylist that I liked that didn't cost a million dollars. Until today. I found an affordable person who COMES TO OUR HOUSE!!! I am so excited!! I look like I just walked out of the Trailerhood. So, if you see me tomorrow at Montgomery Gentry I will be pretty once again!!  If you don't have your tickets yet you better get some! It will be worth it just to see me....right?!

  • Busy Busy!!

Bryan has been at The Manly Man conference all weekend, and dj'ing a wedding tonight so I have been "single" momming all weekend. Got the house cleaned today and Emma had some friends over. Its so fun to see her with friends and know that she is such a sweet little girl even when I am not reminding her.  Hoping to get some photo shoots in tomorrow afer church, so lets hope it doesn't rain!  Emma has her birthday party with her kids coming up, so a while ago when I mentioned about Bryan cleaning the garage? Well, he is going to have to get it done before her party! So we shall see!

  • Thanks Dr Pete!!

Emma and Jack got to go see Dr Pete at Northstar Dental today!!! No cavities for either one and they even peeked at Wills!!

  • School Supplies already?!

    Posted by Addi Scott

We went to the store a few days ago to look for some patio furniture and what do we see but 5 rows of school supplies!! Already?!  They just got done with school like 3 weeks ago!  So, in the spirit of not waiting until the last minute to do stuff like I normally do, we went and bought all the school supplies for Emma and Jack for the fall. It seems really good to get that out of the way. NOW...here is where I need some help. I really want to put their names on their backpacks in some cute way like sewing their names on them or something. Do any of you do this that could share some ideas with me?

  • Potty Training is Fun?

    Posted by Addi Scott

We started potty training the little dude! He finally pooped on the potty and this was the face he made when he smelled it...I know...just like his daddy.

  • Happy Birthday Emma

7 years ago today we became a family! Our little firecracker Emma joined us at 8:12am on July 4th. It is hard to believe that 7 years ago we didn't know her..and now we are so proud of her and the kind of person she is becoming!
